Baxter Healthcare
One of our affiliates signed an exclusive contract with Baxter Healthcare to find 60 sales reps for a major expansion. The goal was to hire 30 by April and 30 by mid-May.
Due to the urgent nature of this assignment, information on the company and search parameters for the first wave of hires was immediately conveyed to all members of the First Interview Network. The short time frame did not allow time for multiple interviews, so quality and speed were essential. The affiliate and the First Interview Network performed by filling two-thirds of the targeted positions.
Later that year the affiliate owner suggested and got buy-in from Baxter on conducting a Sales Team Profile through First Interview. The resulting report to management was helpful in assessing the overall feelings and competencies of the Baxter sales force.
Johnson & Johnson - Ethicon Division
The Ethicon Division of Johnson & Johnson manufactures surgical endoscopy instruments used specifically in suturing and fastening applications. They required an expansion, requiring an additional 100-150 sales reps nationwide in a short period of time....a significant challenge.
The Wise Group was selected as their primary recruiting service. We, along with the First Interview team recruited and placed 125 sales people the first year, in positions across the United States. The additional 25 came from internal referrals and promotions.
Our success in this endeavor was due to First Interview’s reach and our ability to find people in many locations. Candidates were all thoroughly pre-screened by the various affiliates working the assignment with the top five candidates being presented for each open territory. A secondary benefit to management was that they were not inundated by dozens of other search firms.

Schwarz Pharma
A First Interview affiliate, received an exclusive contract to supply 20 new pharmaceutical sales reps to Schwarz Pharma. Locations were scattered across the United States. The entire assignment was completed by members of the First Interview Network in only seven weeks.
A total of 450 resumes were received by various First Interview affiliates; 101 first-level interviews were conducted, 51 second-level interviews were conducted and 34 final interviews were conducted for 20 positions. As an organization, we filled 17 of the 20, with the remaining three filled by internal referrals.
The next month, our affiliate received a second assignment to fill 15 hospital rep positions for a new Schwarz Pharma Division and achieved similar impressive results.
Altogether, in a sales force expansion which lasted about one year, we placed over 50 sales reps, hospital reps and district sales managers with Schwarz Pharma. Nearly all of the successful candidates for these positions were supplied by First Interview affiliates.
Vistakon
Vistakon, a division of Johnson & Johnson, is one of the leading manufacturers of disposable contact lenses. They began a national expansion seeking 100 new sales people for a new product introduction.
Our Philadelphia affiliate, met with the Vice President and successfully sold him on First Interview's ability to deliver diverse, unique candidates through one primary source. We extolled the benefit of not having to work with many different recruiters and keeping track of hundreds of resumes. One affiliate would handle everything through the network and save the managers time. Vistakon appointed our affiliate and the First Interview Network as one of two exclusive search firms. The client was hiring people with 3-5 years experience in sales (from companies such as Xerox, Harris 3M, Lanier). Over the next 12 months, we successfully placed 85 people with the new division.
